Hi to all Filipinos out there. I just want to ask something about carrying Electronic gadgets with me.
It's my first time to go for a vacation and I plan to buy 2 ipads one for my mother and for my sister as a gift and hand carry it.
I will bring my laptop with me and the 2 ipads.
I just want to know your opinions and experience about this if you encounter to ask to pay tax for carrying this items.

NO, YOU WONT PAY TAXES. I WENT ON VACATION LAST JULY AND I BOUGHT 2 LAPTOPS AND 2 IPADS BUT I DID NOT PAY TAXES. THATS BECAUSE LAPTOPS AND IPADS ARE CONSIDERED PERSONAL BELONGINGS WHEREIN YOU CAN BRING IT ANYWHERE.

Lost soul your nationality says you're a qatari so you have to pay. It's only tax free for filipino OFW's. They can bring electronics item of one kind each and has stayed for one year duration abroad. Immigration officers can question you and ask you to pay taxes if you stayed less than one year abroad. Sometimes they are lenient though. One more thing bribery is prohibited they have cameras to monitor.

well not really especially if you put them in your baggage. we've tried bringing laptops before and other gadgets but we were not asked to pay any taxes. even my uncle had his 32" LCD as his check in baggage but was not asked to pay for tax but you know what is the 'custom' in NAIA during BER-months so I guess you just have to be careful in packing your gadgets..have a nice vacation :)
