Human Rights Commission in Qatar

Did anyone here had an experience of getting a favorable assistance by the Human Rights Commission in their work related problems like getting an NOC bcoz sponsor unjustifiably cancelled your visa and did not give release papers? I need ur insights as my sponsor advised our mandoop not to renew anymore my visa which is expired already but i cant clarify it with my boss right now as he is out of the country. I plan to appeal my case if & when they will cancel me without NOC. Bcoz i am a local hire, did not resign, performing well in work, and i do not have any company rules violations. They were just saying that company now is doing very bad in terms of profit that is why they r cancelling some employees.

I am still hoping it will be implemented sooner bcoz the govt has already spoken that it will be in effect sooner than later as a part of the WC 2022 agreement.

Benson u r so funny...hahaha! nice one.

LP & RAK i got ur point but i know some cases which human rights helped a worker get an NOC. This lady frend of us was accused by her sponsor of stealing money. They cancelled her and told her to go back to her country. But the family said they will fight for the NOC. So they went to labour dept and file a case against the sponsor (not Qatari). They also went to human rights commission to ask for assistance to get an NOC. The sponsor cannot produce proof that she stole money. The sponsor still do not want to give her NOC so Human rights was the one who gave her NOC. Now she is working in another company while her case is still ongoing with the Labour dept.

If u r asking for a source my dear friends about this...Oh man this is coming straight from our friend herself.

What is it with sources and sauces? Looks like all the main players are back from their vacations and the roller coaster ride is about to begin.

Their country and their law.

We as expatriates, can we do anything...is there any local who can hear our cry or these workers cry.

Source or proof on that first.

Many say that if the employer is at fault for things like non payment of salaries and stuff, the labour dept and Human rights can help to get NOC but even thats a joke.

The Human Rights in Qatar are a farce. Most violations are happening in companies with Indian managers. Did you get it?

By RAK• 12 Sep 2012 14:53
RAK

robherr...Even if it is not you who has resigned you have no right to demand NOC as "NOC is at the sole discretion of the employer" No one can force the company to issue NOC even if the reason of your termination is lack of projects.

Like the title Democratic Republic of Congo, the Human Rights Commission of Qatar is an oxymoron if I ever heard one.

Benson--we clearly live in different worlds. I don't cry to locals about my problems.

By anonymous• 12 Sep 2012 14:50

... and you will be surprised, benson, how many violations are happening in companies run by Indians!

Yes, we can. But you can't.

I read the Report 2012 of the Human Rights Watch, robherr. It's full of violations of human rights in Qatar!. Maybe you take the time to do that, too. It may open your eyes.

Either you are local hire or international hire Noc is must to come back again as per qatar labour law, there is no rule like that for local hire NOC can be provided ,but it is totally unfair if a person is hire locally the current employer should give him release if he don't have any work,So please file a case and fight until you get justice ? but take care if employer Hand over your passport to CID or cancel your RP you are screwed.
