pls advice..is certificate under special marriage act after having a child acceptable in qatar?

i hav a 3 yrs old child.can i register my marriage through special marriage act.if i get how is the procedures? and will that certificate be a problem when i apply for family visa for my child? what is the regular marriage registration procedures for muslims in kerala?we are in qatar now. and will get leave only for few days.how long it will take to get a certificate?
