Arriving Qatar pregnant, awaiting residency

Hi all,

Can you help please. My british wife and I will be arriving in Qatar on the 6/7 January, to start my new contract at RasGas. When we arrive she will be 28 weeks pregnant. She will be unable to fly again until after the birth.

We know we will have to pay for the birth privately, we understand all of this, my concern is her visas and residency. Before i can sponsor her i will need my residency and then we can progress.

Will there be an issue with her staying in Qatar until such time as she has given birth and until her Residency is processed?

Kind Regards
Dan

Just disscuss this issue with the PRO or HRD because the laws here varies from nationality to nationality.

Check this with your company PRO/HR, usually getting a residency permit for your wife is your own matter and not the company...in that case you will have to submit a 6 month bank statement of your salary (total should be above 10,000) along with various other documents to get the visa approved.

You will also need to get your Qatar ID card done first and that could take a while. Best to answer in details would be your company.
