Prospective Canadian I.T. techie/supervisor
What are the chances, length of time before hiring for a Canadian trained and experienced I.T. Technician and team leader, here in Doha.
Been here for a few weeks with the family, and decided to look for something worthwhile here, else I go back home to Toronto and carry on my current employment in Canada.
what can I expect, salary wise, time wise, possibility of hire?
I'm a seasoned systems administrator with a strong suite of across the board I.T. roles, from cisco router management to VBS, SQL, HTML coding, to disaster recovery, ghosting, hardware repair and modification, informatics security, you name it.
unfortunately, I think my resume reflects a "jack of all trades" persona when I'm actually quite expertised in a number of I.T. sectors, hence systemS administrator.
i'm also native in english and arabic, which might add to employability.
any help would be duly appreciated and reciprocated at the earliest opportunity :)
cheers,
Moe.
"eh, worst case ontario (scenario in canadian speak :P) i go back home where aforementioned workers only dream of".
besides, making you constant racist remarks, you put in a bad light the image of Canadians, the most tolerant nation in the world. You show off, dude, and this looks cheap.. Shame on you.
why do people waste their time asking a bunch of strangers on QL such questions ? How for God sake anyone here can evaluate your chances? Or actually, I can! It's 50:50. Feels better now?
Salary, position, benefits, contract conditions - all this depends on tens of factors. Try your luck, start sending your resume everywhere, and you will get a clear picture of the situation. Who on the earth can tell you IF, when, and where you will find the job, and what your position and salary will look like? Are any Fortune tellers around??
Good Luck!
I was afraid of this.
I have management experience but I doubt that'll do any good at this age.

You may find that the salaries offered here are too low. Very often this type of job is filled by people from Asia who are willing to work for a 1/3 to 1/2 (on a good day) than you might find acceptable. Otherwise try some of the head hunting firms here (should be able to google a few) and try your luck to see what pans out.
