Your question is like you are asking about buying a Iphone 3GS versus a 5G. I can share what I hear from experienced people. Some others may have their own opinions:-
1) Depends on your usage...off road...life definitely shortened even if they were to cleaned it frequently. But these engines should be built to last alot better than most conventional saloon/sedan; due to their build for the harsher environment and terrain.
2) Timer belt, radiator, fuel pump, water pumps, some ABS or brake pumps, carburetor, distribution coils would require a change by this mileage.
3) Constant maintenance by the owner over a specific mileage would help to prolong the life of the engine. The way the car is pushed also varies but if they go off road, tendency is that one would accelerate the RPM for that required torque on off-road.
4) Luck is also a factor. I have seen cars of less than 50,000 KM have their engine at the service centre on overhaul.

If the all maintenance has done with the dealer...then you can believe. Then depends on how the vehicle has used.
Check the Preventive Maintenance Schedule of the said vehicle.
If everything was replaced as it should like filters, fluids and belts.
Then even at a high mileage you can still have peace of mind.
