Bad bosses can affect your well being
A good boss is like having a good neighbour. If you are not lucky enough to have such a boss, then it can be incredibly damaging to your health and quality of life.
According to health experts, abusive bosses who humiliate, insult employees and isolate them from co-workers not only harm company's growth but also affect performance and overall life of co-workers.
Workplace stress increases the risk of heart disease and stroke, increases risk of insomnia, depression and anxiety, weakens immune defence and can cause chronic muscle pains and migraines. Another doctor Ravindu Choon said, "Problems in professional life affect brain activity. It causes stress and affects quality of life. Professional issues looms all the time and managing family and spending time with them gets difficult. Irritation, high blood pressure and diabetes occurs in such cases."
Recently, a survey conducted by Assocham also revealed that 69% of corporate employees who quit their jobs complained about the indifferent attitude of their bosses or immediate supervisor. Survey also found that around 42% of employees have been a victim of workplace bullying and almost 56% are bullied by their boss. About 82% of respondents said that a good work environment was often much more important than their current pay level.
Workers are quitting their jobs and even switching to another career because they're fed-up with their current boss, adds the survey.
WHO'S BOSS?
When the Lord made Man, all the parts of the body argued over
who would be the Boss. The Brain explained that since he controlled
all the parts of the body, he should be Boss.
The Legs argued that since they took the Man wherever he wanted to
go, he should be the Boss.
The Stomach countered with the explanation that since he digested
all the food, he should be the boss.
The Eyes said that without them, Man would be helpless, so they
should be Boss.
Then the "A" Hole applied for the Job. The other parts of the body
laughed so hard that the "A" hole became mad and closed up.
After a few days the Brain went foggy, the Legs got wobbly, the
Stomach got ill, the Eyes got crossed and were unable to see. They
all finally conceded and made the "A" Hole Boss.
This proves you don't have to be a Brain to be Boss...Just an "A" Hole.
Just a lil boss joke to lighten up the day haha
Just as I thought. My wife does not seem to be in a good mood this days and it was only today when I cam across her new boss with a big stomach and very little hair on his head at the parking lot near their office that I fully realized what was troubling her and getting her into this mood depressions
there is so much stress at home because my wife's boss is of this kind..
and there was this cargo forwarding and warehousing company in Salwa where the boss was in his chair because of his brother in law being the commercial manager at the head office in Doha. They tried to remove the other workers in the name of recesion, no new business, etc so that later on they could fill the department with their cronies from colombo which perhaps would help them in their self enrichment process
So true...my job was great for the past years until few weeks my new boss started treating me harshly. I am at a brink of resigning and home
i can't agree more... unfortunately, my boss falls into those 3 categories.
"There are three types of personality groups which generally a boss falls into.
In the first category are those, who mistrust co-workers, the second one has those who wants assigned work to be done anyhow and the third ones are those who are insecure and anxious about how they and their co-workers work."
While the guys below are busy at work and trying to meet deadlines the boss is busy having coffee at starbucks and only wants updates on the phone from his workers so he can give the customer the impression that he is on top of things
I can relate to that as I have the most evil boss ever and it really has an effect on your physical, mental and emotional well being. If only if were that easy to switch jobs in Qatar......
Well said, well explained.
Yeah very true. My guy used to work at this logistics company where he had such a boss called Kamal whose major pre occupation was not in getting any business for the company but to interfere in the other departments in the organization and create rifts and problems wherever he goes besides trying to fill the logistics and courier depts with his cronies and countrymen
Thanks GOD. I have a good neighbour. Alhamdulillah.
