Lung scar in X-Ray
I have a friend who is coming from the Philippines thru agency. I hired him thru an employment agency in the Philippines.
Now here's the problem. on his medical examination IN THE PHILIPPINES his x-ray shows a scar on his lungs. but he do not have any disease nor any complications. it was from previous problems that had already been treated. to make the story short after getting a recommendation from a pulmonologist he was given a fit to work certification and his visa is now under process here in Qatar.
This is my question. do you think he will pass the medical examination here in Qatar? given his situation?
Anybody had this situation before?
Any suggestions on what to do?
Thanks. .

if you have certification from the lung center of the philippines and pass the PTB test, there is nothing to worry about
go to another medical centre and take an xray and see.
Better tell him to go to another accredited medical clinic by Qatar Embassy and get the fit to work certificate there.
It happened to me. I also went to a pulmonologist who gave me medication then went for x-ray again in a private hospital. Result was negative then went to another medical clinic for agency medical exam which I passed. Now I am working after medical exam here in Doha with x-ray result that was also negative for lung scar. The pulmonologist told me that it could be that the plates used on the first x-ray was old and defective. It is always best to seek second or third opinions.
The company who sponsored him visa can appeal for a waiver. I'm not just sure how this is done but i have read few threads re lung scar and their employers here in Qatar submitted a waiver for them to work in Qatar.
If they find scar in Medical check up the possibility is rejection irrespective of Sponsor.
Actually sometimes depend to the sponsor.
100% rejection. I do not want to discourage but for sure there will be problems.
The lung scar will surely be noticed and there is a 50% chance that he will be rejected. Happened to my friend, rejected because of lung scars but passed on the second medical examination. I know of some people who were not given second exams, they were immediately sent to their home country.
