Need advice regarding Family RP Visa status
I submitted my application for family RP visa on 6th November 2011 and today the status shows "THE APPLICATION IS DEFERRED". In the description they have mentioned, "REFER TO APPLICATION SUBMISSION OFFICE".
I have submitted all the required documents which they asked at the time of submission of visa application.
My family is already in qatar on family visit visa which is already extended for 4 months and about to expire next month. I want to convert family visit visa to family RP visa without leaving the country.
When I submitted the visa application, the application no. which they have given is for visit visa. I don't quite understand what needs to be done in this situation and how i should proceed further.
I have seen few other people getting the same status for their family visa application but no one has mentioned if they got the visa or not.
Please advise. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Any updates...I too got a same status...i checked with Captain...they are saying that i have to change my visa to Electronics engineer...(im having civil engineer visa but education is electronics engineering)...pls help me...how did u clear this issue...

Probably you will get a date for meeting somewhere in a months time if you are lucky and then it might work out if all the docs you submitted are correct.. If not, they will ask you to re-submit again.. All will come to know after meeting the captain... Its better you renew the visit visa since it might take some time. For immediate family members the visa can be renewed upto 7 months and again for 2 weeks... Actually it can be renewed upto 12 months, but the officials wont allow... All the best!!!
Have you checked with immigration counter after that? If not check with them. Probably you will get an appointment in few weeks. Big issue would be tency contract. However do not worry if your all documents are correct. Further if you need to extend visit visa in few weeks, that is also possible. I got visit visa extended by 6 weeks other than 6 months.
