By Charles.Doha •
Hi everyone! I need advice from you guys. My contract will expire this coming December 20. I dont want to extend or renew my contract for some personal reasons. Do I have to come to work on December 21? What if my boss do not provide me ticket on December 21, what will i do? Anybody, please help!!!!
If you need any guidance on how to go about filing a complaint in the Labor Office, feel free to call me at 44810951 tomorrow 6 PM onward. I have gone through the experience.
@ acchabaccha, thank you so much for the very uplifting comment. You guys are really no doubt can be regarded as "jewels" in this forum. The happiness and hope that you bring to those people including me by sharing these very informative comments are truly priceless.
The Labor Office will help you out even if you are a foreign worker. In fact when you go there, you will be seeing mostly foreigners with their complaints against their employers. As for the 2-week waiting period, I don't think this is correct. Once the Labor Office orders your employer to settle your dues, it will be compelled to finalize your settlement quickly and send you back immediately.
@ jenojaan, is the labor department willing to help a foreign worker like me complain against my employer? a friend of mine told me that there is a 2-week grace period after the expiration of the contract. do I really have to wait for 2 weeks before they will buy me ticket? I want to go home as soon as my contract is finished.
then ok no problem, keep copy of that letter. They have to provide you return ticket+other benefits.Dont worry they will provide it,if not you can got to Labor deprtmnt.
@ jenojaan, I had submitted my advance notice informing them that I will not renew my contract anymore last November 8.
you should give resignation letter now itself, inform them about your resignation.
