Applying Family visa, ex-employee, blacklist

This is for those who are applying for family visa and have worked in Qatar previously.

I had worked in Qatar for two years and resigned (NOT TERMINATED), flew back home got married. My husband is currently working in Qatar so I decided to join him in 2013. However, as I tried to enter the country, I was denied of entering into Doha even though I hold a passport of countries which can obtain the visa on arrival. Surprise! I was blacklisted.

Anyway, my husband worked his butt off and got me in Qatar after six months. I applied family visa at once under his spocership, 25/jan 2014. Everything went smoothely, got application accepted after three days, medical done and fingerprint done. It took only 2 weks and if you are aware of procedures you could even make it faster, i guess.

After getting fingerprint done, immigratin officer told us to wait three days to be updated on the system but even after one week passed, the status on the website didnt change. So I decided to call my husband's PRO and he told me that I have to updating my RP as I used to work before in Qatar. To do so I had to go to CEID along Salwa road where I have done my fingerprint, where is also known as Search and Follow-up.

I went to the first building on the right hand side where I did my fingerprint. I have explained to them the situation, so they have directed me to captain. I have explained him my situation and what he did was writing my previous RP to my family visa application form (form u get to print it out after clearance of medical). Then led me to counter taking number B, 'fingerprint inquery'. I strongly believe that I could have done writing RP number by myself though. My turn came and she told me that I was still blacklisted so that I had to go to Search and Follow-up building, which is next build. (I have no idea if it was necessary to approach the counter or not. Maybe if I was not blacklisted, I could have updated my RP right there. Not sure.)

So I went to next building, Search and Follow-up, 2nd floor. There are two corridor, take right and you will see a counter. There is a waiting place and infront of this place, there are two officers in uniform seated. I approached them and they have updated my RP. Thank God. (Not to mention, I had to go through, 'Yes, I was blacklisted before but it's removed nah nah nah) Then finally I got my family resident visa.

I hope this will help for those struggling to understand the procedures of updating their RP.

Hi thank you for the very helpful post. By the way I would like a clarification for the following please:

1. Is your visa already expired when you re-enter Qatar?

2. What do you mean by blacklist? Is it the same if the visa is expired and the status states "transferred to residence"?

3. Did they require you for NOC from ex-employer?

Hoping for your response please. Thank you very much.

>Molten, it was not due to marriage. It was more like the company didn't want to have ex-employees existing in the country for some reason.
