You guys were not helpful at all.... the guy has a valid question... instead of helping him you bs about nobility and other stuff... are you all that noble ? give him a break.... he has a family to feed.. so get over it... yes... doctors and teachers also need a decent salary... unfortunately I personally dont know what the salary should be but i do know that it depends on passport and qualifications.... you should be able to save double if you are coming to the region

Some schools don't allow their teachers to provide tutoring outside of school hours. Check with other teachers at the school (if you know any) to see what the policy and enforcement issues are.

relocated: for a second i was annoyed by your comment but then realized that the way i expressed myself earlier could have been taken the wrong way; I studied in Ideal too and fondly remember my teachers too; and because I happen to be the worst student in the history of education, I attended these private classes too..which like you said, were very kindly offered by my teachers because they cared about me enough. However, it was these very teachers who confided in me/my parents that it was not legal for them to teach for a fee either inside the school premises after working hours or at their homes. But their low salaries do not help their cause. Sure, everyone does it, but the law does not allow it. You can get drugs/alcohol/women/gay men here but its all illegal. That was my point. And I would want those loving teachers and every person in the world to receive the highest possible salaries, so your last question is not up for consideration either.

@ Mohdata:

Private classes / tuitions are not illegal. If the teachers are sharing their time and knowledge all over again in the free time they should be spending on themselves or with their family, they should be well compensated for it.

I studied in IIS and I remember most of the Sirs who taught me. Yes, They were underpaid, but they never skipped classes or lessons. Instead they did a pretty impressive job in educating the students. They were always approached by parents who wanted them to take pvt classes / tuitions. They could have said No and been selfish in NOT imparting knowledge to the students who needed those extra classes. But instead they sacrificed their free time for the students.

Why is it that everyone wants to be paid more but has an issue with others making some money too? If I was a qualified Sir or Teacher and I had ample free time in the evening, it is my choice if I want to give tuitions or not and if i should take remuneration for it.

Would you ask for remuneration or compensation if you were asked to work all over again in your free time?

I assume Yes. Unless you say No.

at the very least, it needs to be 25% above what you'd earn in your previous country/job. From what I remember from my days in school, our teachers were not very well paid and many resorted to illegal private tuitions to make some money on the side.

Achyuth: Dude, I totally agree with you. Packages are important to survive in Qatar. I do not know why the rest of the QL members have to be so negative towards your post.

Rest of the QL Team for this post: Give the guy a break. He asked a genuine query. How about being nice to others before you want them to be nice to you?

Achy, Atleast you should think a range of salary you wish to have before facing them as per your skills.

Hi,

@ALL ... appreciate taking your time to respond to my query

@Molten :

Totally agree that teaching is a noble profession and that's one of the major reason that I am in this Field. I am not sure why "SALARY" is not a criteria , being in noble profession does not mean that the person should not be worrying about his/her family or his/her responsibilities . I definitely need to make sure that i do have the sufficient fund to run my family as well .

@Galinda.. some the threads related to this were 2 yrs back (including few what you have shared) .. and i wanted to know if the situations are still same

@Riyal2Rupe... the interviews i had were on the teaching demos , i am yet to attend the HR interview probably by this weekend , and the salary would be discussed only then , i wanted have my own checks on what i could expect int he HR interview

@happygolucky: if every thing goes well i would be working as residential teacher ,for some time until i get the residential visa and then moving my family in

thanks

Still scratching my head how are the two connected. Seriuosly I am trying to avoid reading such inputs but somehow am not that successful.

Lol Happy. I thought it was just my imagination. Did you see some of the other notable contributions on other threads? If you have no idea about an issue, why would you embarrass yourself by posting nonsense? Is it that you want to prove that you don't know?

achyuth , why do you want to take the trouble of interviews if you don't know the salary of that position ?

Molten has rightly pointed out , teaching & medical lines people shouldn't be money minded.
