visa related need help

I have worked in qatar from
October 2007 to February 2008.
my visa validity was upto
November 2008.i left qatar in
february 2008 on emergency
and subsequently sent the
resignation to the employer.
now I got employment offer in
qatar and visa status in MOI is
as VISA EXPIRED and status as
TRANSFEERED TO RESIDENT.
Kindly provide me the
information wether I am eligible
to work in qatar.

the same thing happened to me.

sorry but this means, your past employer did not cancel your visa from before.

my advice is, (and this is what i did), contact your previous employer and tell them about your situation. ask them to do the necessary things to cancel your visa. perhaps they will facilitate the cancellation or in my case, not do anything and blame it on the immigration. to cut the story short, my new employer took care of everything and had my old visa cancelled.

my previous employer told me that working visas are supposed to get cancelled automatically by the system after 6 months. apparently there are procedures for that and the system doesn't really cancel our visas right away after 6 months upon exit, unless the necessary procedures are performed.

i learned that employers don't do these things when we exit in the hope that we change our minds and go back to working with them. some also say that some employers use the visa for other employers. everything is in the ether. who knows what is correct or not? anyway, good luck to you. i hope your visa gets settled.
