Inspectors close down restaurants in Al Rayyan
Inspectors of Health Monitoring Section at Al Rayyan Municipality have shut down 10 food outlets for violating rules last month.
Six of them have been shut for one month while three have been closed for 10 days. Only one was shut down permanently, according to Al Sharq.
A total of QR 179,200 was collected in fines. Inspectors made 4,776 visits to outlets and destroyed 136kg of meat, and seven slaughtered sheep after the meat was found unfit for human consumption. Two of 20 food samples were also found unfit.
