Qatar Charity to launch Pakistan relief campaign
Qatar Charity has allocated QR1.3mn for the displaced people of Malakand in Pakistan who are affected by conflicts.
The Charity’s relief campaign to help over 100,000 people is expected to begin in the next few days.
Qatar Charity’s office in Islamabad will provide food, shelter and health care, vice chairman Abdullah bin Hussein al-Ni’mah said.
He said amount allocated for the campaign would be increased according to the needs and situation of the displaced people.
“A Qatari delegation has left to Pakistan to assess the situation closely,” he added.
Al-Ni’mah said the campaign will provide shelters to at least 500 families besides making arrangements for supplying water, providing food, kitchen utensils, blankets and health services.
He said the relief campaign will continue for three months and will be carried out in co-operation with other humanitarian organisations.
