Happy Ending
I just wanted to share the happy ending to the story of the Saluki and her puppies I posted some months ago.
Mother and both surviving girls were offered a home via a US-based rescue charity and are now happily living, with their permanent adoptive family, on a farm in Pennsylvania. (The second girl flew over to Washington last week for the reunion).
To close the story I'd like to highlight what a team effort this was, because, over the months, there have been many people who have contributed to making it happen.
-First, the site watchman who made sure they had water, and cared for them when they were born
-my friend A who came and took photos which
attracted more help
-friends and QLers who then helped with food;
-Kim and Mohammed from Dohavets who, without
hesitation, offered to take them in until a
solution could be found;
- the QAWS team who also came to help catch one of
the pups for us;
-A, who cared for them on his farm while we found a
permanent solution;
-Dr Khalid, who allowed them to stay at the clinic
until they travelled;
-those who made donations which covered their
speying and vaccination costs,
- the volunteers who were kind enough to take them
to the states as accompanied baggage,
- and the volunteers who collected them when they
arrived.
Of course, there are many other animals in great need, but I hope the story shows that with patience and cooperation, there can be happy endings...
