jo ho daroon-e-dil se HaseeN, chaahiye mujhe
ye kab kahaa ke zohra jabeeN chaahiye mujhe

seene meiN jis ke dard ho insaaN ka har ghaRi
aisaa makaan-e-dil ka makeeN chaahiye mujhe

taa umr aasman peh uRta rahaa magar
marne ke baa'd thoRi zameeN chaahiye mujhe

maana talab hai mujh ko chaman ke sukoon ki
lekin sukoot-e-marg naheeN chaahiye mujhe

qaa'id ki rooH phooNk de jo har javaan meiN
voh ai'timaad aur yaqeeN chaahiye mujhe

kuch yaad hai ke dekh ke tum ne hamaara dil
kis naaz se kahaa tha "naheeN chaahiye mujhe"

jo lazzat-e-sujood se vaaqif ho ae nabeel
aisi saleeqa mand jabeeN chaahiye mujhe
