How do you spend your salary?

Life in Qatar can get expensive at times, especially if you have your family here. We all have different needs and spending money becomes less of an option. This means saving money becomes a plan shelved for later.

Do you think the depiction is exaggerated or is it actually accurate? Let us know what you think. How did you spend your April salary?

my husband spends 6000 for rent and over all 1500 for all expences. Our weekly grocery expences are only 100 Qrs.We rarely go to Lulu. All the time we buy necessary things from local small shops next our home.So that way we save a lot of money out of 54000 Qrs what our monthly income is.yes we are vegetarians so we have not much to spend on foods.Restos we hardly go.But yes my husband is one of the richest in his colleagues.

50% of the salary will go in rent, 10% in bills like Ooredoo and kahrama, 20% in house hold expenses, 3% in charity 2% in petrol, 5% on car servicing from dealer and rest of the money which is only 10% keeps irritating me rest of the month that will it be sufficient for the remaining days.

true. It is so unfair that rents are so high. some brokers advertise flats for Qar3500/- 4000 & they look like toilets. above that, they collect a commission. doesn't the GOVMT have a say on housing rents? Not everyone can afford these.

3. 1/4 for the Food and daily expense

4 0 for fun and saving

40% of the salary is spent on rent/accommodation, even that's not going to Qataris, it's going to Mallus partitions. If this government take over all these vacant flats and rent it out then it would bring down the prices a lot. Nowadays what's happening is, neither villas are occupied nor rent is coming down..

Planning & budgeting in line with your earnings are more important.

It doesnt mean that need to sqeeze your regular expenditures, but cut short more on purchases, every time think about your savings specially if you have kids. Cause for expats nothing is certain here, be prepared to meet any contingency's.

you must apply the 70-20-10% rule...don't live like a king...life is like a tidel wave full of suprises and predictions, sometimes you are on top and sometimes you are below. so, instead of spending your money lavishly, save for the future and definitely you will all go back to your homecountry when you grow old although i truly understand that we need to enjoy life but with not to the extent that you are spending your money like a millionaires....
