The open air donation would spare the needy the “shame” of asking for food, the man, who was not named, said.
Act of kindness from a Qatari family
A Qatari family has put up a fridge outside their home in Hilal near Muntaza signal to provide cold water bottles for workers. A beautiful act of kindness indeed from these folks.
Only last month, a man from Saudi Arabia did a similar act of kindness by installing a refrigerator outside his house in the northern city of Hail and invited people to donate food to help the needy.
The move came to national and international attention after a religious scholar, Shaikh Mohammad Al Araifi, paid tribute on his Twitter account to “the Saudi man from Hail who was engaged in an indirect act of charity.” (BBC)

doharoom and khalli: the workers probably meant Irani Qataris; there's loads of them and especially in Hilal..there's Indian/Pakistani/Irani and many other varieties of Qataris..they're not strictly indigenous and the passports were being issued right, left and center back in the day..

good job
Alhamdulillah.. This is why Islam is such a beautiful religion..Masha Allah
This is not just one single great act of Qataris. Almost every day I see some Qatari lady stopping her car to hand over a few riyals to the cleaners who go about picking up trash from the streets. These cleaners are very low-paid workers. Every nation of the world has good people.
Nice job
Masha allah verry nice
In each Masjid free cold drinking water for public is available 24x7. It is not in headlines.
islamic studies: you seem to be of a religious bent (your username); and yet you have this most cynical and judgmental mentality; I'm a bad Muslim myself but am certain that one cannot pray/fast/worship God while still having a thought process like that..a guy did his thing to help the thirsty..let's leave his judgement to God and encourage it..if not, let's keep silent.

please let me know where is this situated ?, i would like to add few drinks, whatever i can afford. thanks
Islamic studies has gone insane actually !!
Act of Kindness should be appreciated ,whatever his intentions he shall get the reward from Allah Almighty.who knows better whats in our heart.just do the good things and encourage good deeds.
Is Islamic Studies trying to say that the owner would have been doing a better thing by NOT installing the fridge? That's a strange perspective.
It never shame..it is worthy...
Every masjid in Qatar has cold drinking water machines for public just beside the main gates and thousands of people are drinking and taking cold water in their bottels daily. I dont know what type of kindness they want to do by installing refregirator outside their home as their homes are not a meeting point of public like mousques. So labor and poor people will suffer to walk and reach their to put one drop of water in their thirsty tounge The mosques are everywhere in Qatar and locals and non locals are spending money to put cold drinking water machines there. My point is that puting refrigator outside the home is less useful here in Qatar and it is a way to become in headlines.
permission. One day by mistakle we had some communication problem during job activities , he complaint to head of section , about it that I am eating his stuff and opening drawers, and more extra sentence , he try to prove that I am seldom bites, or thief, the end is I got warring letter ,,,,,...
This is a part of Muslim .. Good improvement.
But I had bad experience in Qatar , caz I worked with one Qatari guy .some time we sahring some Chocolate or biscuits , some time I taked from his drawer with permission. One day by mistakle we had some communication problem during job

Masha Allah great act...i think every area should hve some of these houses. and send a portion of the food to the fridges if we cant provide fridges.
Wait and see the place will start being visited frequently , whoever passes nearby and is hungry...Pap!! change direction enjoy the food...drinks..ooh if u catch them, where will u report them..they're poor chaps too like any other..
But pls don't abuse this food... it's really for the ppl who really need it...
It's not about ONLY QATARI... it's about everyone who has ability to help....
Good Act, May Allah award his bounty towards them, Aameen.
جزاك الله خير

and hey most qataris install water taps outside their homes for people to drink from...these guys just took it upscale lol
God bless this family and hope they install CCTV nearby so no1 robs it :)))
this was the qatar i grew up in and these were the kind of people i grew up around..but then they decided to host a world cup..and here we are now..and hilal is just one of the nicest neighbourhoods to live in..polite, quiet and respectful of each other:-)
may Allah grand them victory in this world and hereafter
If one could afford to install the fridge am sure donations will be coming.
hope more Qatari families will do this deed....
