Turn your old Qtel/Ooredoo wireless router into a repeater (Wifi Extender)
ROUTER SPECIFICS
Huawei HG655b Wireless router (old router)
Please confirm that your router is exactly the same as I have mentioned above. The procedure is device specific
Prerequisites :
- Old wireless router (from now on called A)
- A wireless router with an existing internet connection (here on B)
- LAN cable
- Download file : Upgrader.bin (https://www.wuala.com/fratzicu/Public/Huawei-HG655b/Hg655b-own-compiled) (The 7Mb file)
- A PC/Laptop with LAN port and Wifi
Procedure
1) Unplug the power cord of A
2) Press the RESET button on the side of the router and keep holding
3) Plug in the power cord again and wait for the router to turn on (Keep holding the RESET button)
4) Release the RESET button after about 15 seconds
5) Now connect a LAN cable to any of the LAN ports of A and connect the other end of the LAN cable to the PC (This PC should be disconnected from Internet)
6) Browse to IP address 192.168.1.1 (If the Ooredoo login page comes up, you probably did not hold down the RESET button long enough )
7) Upload the file Upgrader.bin and click upgrade.
8) The process will take care of itself and the router A will reboot after a few minutes
9) Wait for a while and after it is done rebooting , browse to IP address 192.168.1.1 once again
10) Now you should see an interface called LucI asking for a password
11) Login without password

The 7 MB file isn't named Upgrader.bin. Is that alright?
That's a good tutorial right there. What's next?
