An official from Supreme Committe for Delivery & Legacy responded with a statement after FIFA's Dr. Zwanziger expressed his opinion about why Qatar will not host the 2022 World Cup.

“Qatar will host the FIFA World Cup in 2022, despite comments of FIFA Executive Committee member Dr. Zwanziger, which reflect his personal opinion and not that of FIFA," said Nasser Al Khater, Executive Director of Communications and Marketing for the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.

Theo Zwanziger told Sport Bild on Monday that he thinks the 2022 World Cup will not be held in Qatar because of the scorching temperatures.

"Medics say that they cannot accept responsibility with a World Cup taking place under these conditions," said Zwanziger.

However, Al Khater thinks the only question now is when the Qatar should host the tournament, summer or winter.

"We have proven that a FIFA World Cup in Qatar in the summer is possible with state-of-the-art cooling technology," he added.

This summer, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy welcomed fans in Doha to an open-air Brazil 2014 Fan Zone with temperatures cooled to a more comfortable 22 degree celsius.

"The evolution of environmentally-friendly cooling technologies is an important legacy for our nation, region and for countries with similar climates - promising to expand the reach of hosting major sporting events to countries where it was never thought possible before,” added Al Khater.

Hosting a F1 race would be just as good, if not better. Why not look at that? Qatar already has a race track. So much potential. Too many issues with this 2022 World Cup it's not worth throwing money at it.

Qatar is not suitable for hosting such an event: freedom first, too small country, mentality issues, weather! They bid for summer not for winter and all European clubs won't change their tournament for Qatar. Imagine all those Europeans, Asians, American going drunk outside! Gosh! Qatar needs to admit is too small for it! Labour law! Did u forget the way they are treated?! U think with four stadiums the World spins aroundbyour wishes! Till years ago, Qatar didn't even exist. I'm looking forward to see how those foreigners will get dressed on the strets especially at 50 degrees!
