Deportation

Hi - I've been in Qatar since January 2011 and have enjoyed working and living here, never once had a problem. I'm UK origin. My parent company in the US have run into a problem with our Qatari Sponsor, and for whatever reason my Qatari Sponsor filed a runaway case against me on 22nd Dec. I was arrested Christmas Eve and spent 5 days in CID Salwa Road Detention Center. I've hired a lawyer (at considerable cost), and we are now counter suing the sponsor for wages / gratuity etc, but I still have this Runaway Case. My question is, if I am found guilty of being a runaway (which I should not, I can prove I was in constant contact with my sponsor), and I am sentenced to deportation is there anyway I can stay in my apartment and have time to finish up my affairs (clothes / possessions / car etc) in a civilized fashion? Or will I be taken straight to deportation center with just the clothes on my back and sat there waiting for flight home...??? Please help, I'm desperately worried about this. James

Suggest you take the assistance of your embassy. I am sure they will be able to guide, support, and advise you best in this situation.

Maybe yes but, being from the UK, I do believed that your government will exhaust all means to help you out with your concern and with your case. Take care and good luck.
