What is the rule say about full car insurance if some one hit n run?
hello there.
here is the story, some one hit and run my car while i park and i report to police then go to insurance but the insurance officer told me that i have to pay 30% of the total cost is that true? i did not do any mistake and the car is full insured. why i have to pay since it is insured fully? Pls advise me.... Tnx
I am working in a car isnurance, If your car was hit by someone and ran away and you didnt take his plate number it will fall down to own damage meaning u will have participation even you are full insurance BUT if you know who hit your car then you will not pay any participation UNLESS you paid with agency repair added on your premium when you renewed it.
All insurance companies have a rule of deduction even if the vehicle is carrying comprehensive insurance. The deduction amount varies from company to company and may also depend on the model of the vehicle. In some companies it is a fixed amount irrespective of the cost of damages or cost of repairs. If the cost of repairing your vehicle is going to be high, then it is better to get it repaired through the insurance and you bear the 30% of the cost. However, if the damages are minor, then I suggest you get the repairs done yourself and not through the insurance company. You should have clarified this deduction at the time of buying the insurance cover and could have insured your vehicle with a company giving better returns for your money.
since it was a hit and run case, your insurance will fix it for you but even with comprehensive (full) insurance, you still have to pay a certain percentage for car parts based on the age of your car. Hope it answers your question.
If that so then what to do.. tnx for sharing my idea,
If unknown then u need to Pay 30%
i actually don't have idea who did it to me, its unknown..
If it's his mistake u don't have to pay a penny. His insurance does it. Hope u noted down his number plate. If yes a case will be registered and it will take months to solve it.
Co-payments exist in Qatar. I am unsure about full insurance.
Check with another insurance company's sales team such as Qatar General Insurance if they have a similar policy. If this is a standard, you have to cough up the 30%.
