Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) co-organised by Qatar Tourism Authority ( QTA ) and Qatar Airways (QA), has today announced the names of its partners and sponsors for the much-anticipated annual festival taking place for the sixth time at the Museum of Islamic Art Park from 24 to 28 March 2015.
QIFF has appointed Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) and Qatar Events Diary OnQ as the event's strategic partners, with signature partners of the festival being Kempinski Marsa Malaz Hotel, The Diplomatic Club, Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels, and Weill Cornell Medical College's Shatak Awalan initiative.
QatarLiving.com was named as media partner of the event, together with Qatar Television, Fatafeat and BBC Good Food. Check-Inn TV will be a service provider to the festival.
This year's event's cultural partners include the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Heritage; the Qatar - Turkey Year of Culture; the Museum of Islamic Art; and the Doha Film Institute (DFI).
QIFF also named Qatar Culinary Professionals, Philips, and Guinness World Records as Festivity Partners of the event.
The Look Company was named as the event's supporting partner.
QIFF also paid special thanks to Chefs Vineet Bhatia, Aisha Al Tamimi, and Massimo Capra for their active role and participation that will also contribute to the event's success.
The sixth edition of the festival features a number of general zones, which include many food stalls as well as several kiosks of restaurants and exhibitors accompanied by a wide range of entertainment activities and offerings brought to the festival by its sponsors and partners.
For this year, QIFF announced upgraded sponsor activations, which include the stage zone, the snack zone, the international zone, the live cooking zone, and the Instagram zone.
In addition, the health and active zone combines healthy food outlets, education and information on nutrition and a well-balanced diet, as well as fun activities and live entertainment.
There are also lots of social media competitions planned through the QIFF 2015 online presence, which highlights an increased digital focus by the organisers. QIFF 2015 is already using their online Facebook for competitions, and is calling for recipes for a Qatari cookbook, as well as photographs of people cooking with their loved ones.
There are also new activities planned this year with fireworks to be set off at the event every evening at 8.30pm for the duration of the Festival, and live ice-carving.
Partners and sponsors are essential to the success of this premier festival, which has repeatedly attracted visitors from inside and outside Qatar, with a record of more than 120,000 visitors, media and dignitaries last year.
QTA and QA, alongside their partners and sponsors, through QIFF provide visitors with the opportunity to sample an extensive selection of cuisines at a world-class festival which delivers a truly unique culinary experience.
Entertainment, raffle prizes, and a genuine festival atmosphere with music every day and performers all contribute to the atmosphere and attraction of the five-day festival.
There will also be a children's play area with bouncy castles, Jungle Zone, face painting and other fun activities.
Entry to the event is free.
