Healthcare
I have been offered a job in Qatar.
I have an obscure condition which means I cannot get a private medical policy.
My kidneys are at about 55% and I have 50% chance of needing a transplant in 20 years, although I am fine now.
When I worked in Qatar a few years ago (before my diagnosis) we had a Hammad card, a maroon card for healthcare.
Is this still in place and is it an entitlement of every citizen and resident? Will I be rejected if I apply for one of these cards?
If I get sick am I ok to just turn up and pay for treatment in cash?
Thanks
Thanks all.
Im afraid I dont have my records to post.
best of luck.

As far as I am aware, the Health Card is available to all residents. All you have to do is provide copy of your passport, residence visa and two passport sized photographs. The fee is 100 QAR.
