Engineer visa vs Secretary visa

Dear Friends,

I would like to know is there any difference between holding an Engineer visa and Secretary visa. I am basically an engineer working as an engineer in qatar. Now for processing my visa as an Engineer, I don't have my degree certificates attested. Which will take sometime. My company PRO offered me secretary visa which he can process soon, as i'm in a hurry to get my family along with me to Qatar as soon as possible. Is it okay to take up the visa profession as Secretary or do I need to wait and get visa profession as Engineer. What is the real difference between these 2 visa and what will I loose by taking visa designation as Secretary?

Kind suggestions are most welcome.

Thanks in advance

you can apply for a driving license as a secretary & your company can give you NOC letter to the driving school.

Thank you rikisiki. Do you have a driving license? I hope we can get licence on secretary visa. I read it somewhere secretary professions wont get license for driving.

Hi All,

Thank you for your valuable inputs. Now I have am on work permit with profession as secretary. Still my medical and finger print not started. Company promised to change the profession on arrival.

I have raised a request with company to confirm, if I can take visa as Secretary and get family on visit and then change my visa profession to Engineer after a month or two, before I convert my family visit to family RP. Hoping for the positive response from my company.

Is it really true that visa profession cant be changed before completing one year?

Thanks!

Request your company to change the visa profession to Engineer. This will take about 2 weeks and then they can apply visa for you. If they get you secretary visa, then you can change the visa profession only after completing one year. BTW, are you working on business visa?

You will not face any problem as the company can make you change of profession from secretary to engineer once you attest your certificate from the qatar embassy in your country & ministry of foreign affairs in your country & again here from your country embassy in qatar & from ministry of foreign affairs in qatar, this process usually done in two month, if you are lucky you can check one of the offices doing this service here against charge, once this is done you can easily apply for change of profession & your company should do it for you, check with any of the HR in your company or any of the secretaries in the company they will give you more information.

If u have degree certificate, go with Engineer Visa. If it takes one or two months more... otherwise When u apply for RP u will be troubled. If u show your engineering certificate for secretary visa, they will reject your application.

Thanks QUFac.

I'm also concerned about the same. PRO says it can be changed after 6 months. I don't want to get into a mess with profession when applying RP for family. My salary is way above the salary of a secretary. I might get caught trying to prove my profession. Please suggest.

In future, u will be in trouble. I can certainly understand ur family situation. But, someone can ask in the future, why and how did u work as secretary. How would u be paid. How can u switch to engineer visa?
