Motorists frustrated by road closure on Najma street
The closure of the one-kilometre stretch between Gulf Cinema and Mall signals of Najma Street has led to remarkably huge congestion on several roads in Al Hilal.
Residents complained that owing to the closure of the traffic on both the directions of the Najma Street they were caught in traffic congestion for considerably long durations in the inner roads of the area.
One of them said it took him almost one hour from the opposite side of Woqod Petrol Station to reach Lulu Hyper Market on the D-Ring road .
"Since I relocated to the area a few years ago, it was the first time I was experiencing this kind of traffic congestion on the inner roads of the Al Hilal area along the C-Ring Road.
Inquiries also found that were hardly any customers at Woqod Petrol Station, the entry to which is heavily affected in the wake of road closure.
Now those coming from the Old Airport area need to access the petrol station through the lanes on the opposite side of the Kahramaa's Customer Services Centre on the D-Ring Road.
The section of the D-Ring road between Mall and Al Hilal signals has all along been experiencing heavy traffic even otherwise.
Similarly, those who want to reach the Petrol Station from Najma and Mansoura areas also face severe difficulties on account of the closure.
Now they need to initially reach the Muntaza signal before entering the C-Ring road and further use the inner roads to access the petrol station. [Gulf Times]

Did you get stuck in this traffic jam yet?
No surprise, as this is not the first time residents are suffering due to poor planning. People will shout as usual, but no one will listen.
The worst part is that management doesn't learn a lesson and continue similar practices in future as well.
