Dual Residence Permit of Kuwait & Qatar Issue
Qatar MOI website states under the header "Residence Permit Point No:4",that an individual can keep a residency of any one GCC country along with Qatar RP with an additional cost.
http://www.moi.gov.qa/site/english/departments/PassportDept/sections/sec749/749.html
but now the confusing part in that clause :
Is it necessary to have same sponsors in both regions (Kuwait & Qatar) to retain RP's?
Earlier i searched the threads at Qatarliving.com regarding same 'Posts', but replies over there were vague and confusing.
Appreciate your kind feed back.
Regards,
@blueboy007 @ahalam: thanks mates for the info..there's no prob over here at Kuwait side to keep multipe RP's..
once again thanks for the prompt feedback..(Y)
Yes, agreed with Ahalam. The sponsor in the above case was different and there wasn't any issue.
Yes @ blueboy, we need to pay 2000 QR to pay to keep both the residencies otherwise Qatar RP will not be processed, either you have to cancel your Kuwait Residency or pay 2000 QR . No issues if sponsors are different
Well, I am not sure about Kuwait-Qatar duel residences, but very recently, I guess 2 months back, one of our new staffs was able to keep Dubai residency by paying QR2000 fee to Qatari immigration office and was able to have Qatari residency as well. ( QR2000 is the fee charged by MOI, not under the table :)
Hope this would help.

Perfect and to the point reply..thanks a lot bro..:)
In the official way if you are working in a large company that operates in both countries, they can issue you iqama at 2 countries and you have to pay additional cost of about 1000 i think.
In the un-official way, you can just come to Qatar on visit visa and then convert it to iqama (residence permit) and not ask about it and you are okay.
i had Saudi and Qatari iqama and i used to pass by the land boarder every month and no one asked me anything! however i heard UAE does not allow both iqamas, no idea about kuwait but at least you know there is no objection from Qatar side.
