Ministry punish companies violating summer midday work ban
The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs said yesterday that it has shut down 42 worksites for failing to comply with the summer schedule for outdoor works.
As per the law no 16 of 2007, all companies are required to stop outdoors works from 11.30 am to 3pm to protect workers from being exposed to direct sunlight and extreme heat.
The ban is in force from June 15 to August 31. The ministry had warned that companies violating the rule could face closure for up to one month.
The ministry had also asked companies to prominently display the summer working hours at work sites.
The ministry said in a statement yesterday that it had conducted 475 surprise raids at different sites between June 15 to June 30. [The Peninsula]

- All I wanna say is that they don't even care about us......
- yeah, its evident. Everyone up there or so called Modis and companies want to make money at all cost. Die, be buried and get replaced immediately. No one is indispensable. Try to resist and they threaten to cancel your visa and send you back home. Fear of being unable to support ones family makes one succumb. Grumble and work. When its time to pay, they tell you that "The cheque is has not matured yet", you put in four months with no pay. The Bosses come to site in the latest GMCs, and tell you they have not been paid themselves, while their one month's salaries could settle your family for ages to come. I really feel remorseful when I see the site workers toil under the scourging sun to be able to make a dime. Michael Jackson said it long ago, check it out

- All they care is their money, even when the rules say we should not work at certain times, after all, the rule of law does not count very much here, many do it and go Scot-free. God save our souls.....
Those companies has no names hmmmmm....Qatar
They should of closed them down for a year to set an example.
