BMW cars and prizes up for grabs during Qatar Summer Festival
Malls around Qatar will launch month-long sales, retail promotions and weekly raffle draws as part of Qatar Summer Festival 2015, organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA).
Hayatt Plaza, The Mall, Al Khor Mall, The Gate and Ezdan Mall, Villaggio, Landmark and Gulf Mall and select stores at the Pearl-Qatar will take part in shopping promotions and raffle draws.
Many will offer 50 percent on sales or other promotions on selected brands, such as 'Buy One – Get One Free.'
Stores will be recognised through the festival slogan 'Colour Your Summer' on their doors or windows. Promotions end with the festival on August 31.
Shoppers who spend QR200 at any store, whether participating in promotions or not, will be eligible to enter a raffle draw for one of 40 prizes, including a BMW 7 Series, a Mini Cooper, QR50,000 and QR10,000.
Total cash prizes amount to over QR700,000. Raffle draws will take place every weekend at Ezdan Mall (August 6), The Mall (August 13), Gulf Mall (August 20) and Villaggio (August 27).
Events, including violin performances and speed painting, will be held along with the draws and roaming shows such as Oriental Parade and Circus Parade continue throughout the week.
Shoppers will be selected at random to join a side draw that will offer winners shopping vouchers of up to QR5,000. A shopper's bill or bills should not reach QR200 to be selected for the draw.
"A unique shopping experience is a key factor for tourists selecting their ideal destination.
"At the festival we have worked to ensure malls and retailers are transformed into colourful venues with exciting offers," said Mashal Shahbik, Manager, Festivals and Events.
The festival targets visitors from the GCC with entertainment for families in a festive, safe environment that reflects their culture and heritage.
A visitor-centric approach is being adopted by QTA and Qatar's hospitality sector with special packages at 26 hotels, including incentives and value-added options, making Qatar the leading preferred destination option in the GCC.
Welcome to slavery. I'm a slave myself.
Dear QL this event is looked with too much excitement but what about those employees that needed to work on night shift due to the effectivity of Summer Work Ban just like my husband working in a construction site he has to report to the office from 3-12 pm so I think that period of time summer festival events or shows is already finished. I hope that employers of the companies will be so generous to allow also their night shift employees to work daytime so this Summer Festival that will be celebrated once in a year in Qatar will be enjoyed by everyone.
