-how did you know that it is not allowed to apply for a tourist visa when there is a 2 year ban applied for us. Tourist visa is only for visiting Qatar and there is no work related on it.

shaikhsohail: Possibly, britexpat was unaware and made a mistake by giving his comment on this matter. However, there is always a politer way of addressing the situation rather than call people "mad." Frankly, I have found britexpat to be one of the very mature and sensible persons who contributes regularly to Qatar Living. There are many who write a lot of nonsense at QL but then we should learn to overlook such people and their posts.
shaiksohailqatarliving and Acchabaccha is right, if you have a ban, you cannot come here on business visa, you can only come on a family visiting visa, which they will not convert to business visa or RP, if ban still applies.
That's so, because the 'business' visa has the 'work' factor implemented in it. And you are banned from 'working' for two years. You can book a hotel and come as a tourist, though.
You cannot come on business visa if you are under a ban.
