Disposal of HP Laserjet used catridges

I have used HP lasejet catridges. I told supplier to collect the empty catridge as it can be sent for recycling and its not advisable to dispose it in unauthorized way. The supplier clearly rejected to collect it and told to dispose it off in the normal bins.

Can anyone suggest me some places or organisations that collect these and dispose or recycle it in safe method with no impact on Environment.
