The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning is considering setting up 55 new parks across Qatar.

Mohammed Ali Al Khoury, Director, Public Parks Department, said a plan to establish 55 parks is under study to meet public needs, local Arabic daily Al Raya reports.

He said two new parks will be opened in Umm Salal and Al Wakrah in a few months.

Development of parks will continue, he said, adding that 15 public parks were opened last year.

Al Khoury said the department is working with the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology to offer free Internet service at all parks and the shortage of lights and children's games in parks will also be resolved. [The Peninsula]

Kindly re-open jebailat park. That one is closed from almost a year and we pass by that park on weekly basis. Security works there but no renovation is going on.
