Hi everyone,

I will work as hotel nurse in intercontinental Doha, I was doing the interview via Skype I'm not really sure what they saying about service charge. I know I should ask them again but usually they give it in Doha or not?

Service Charge is an additional payment in all the services rendered by the hotel (rooms, food & beverages, etc.) to all the customers and guest. It will then being divided to all the employees of the hotel at the given date every month. This amount vary from season to season and it may be high or low depend on the occupancy of the hotel.

Jess: I assume that you are asking about "tips" that are left by customers. Most establishments share this amongst the service employees. You will have to confirm with the management whether this is the case and what the average for a month may be. However, don't depend on it as a part of the salary.

Nope. It is illegal to ask for service charge while recruiting an employee. Don't pay them anything. More often they are the scammers who ask for service charge. It is the employer's responsibility to pay for the agent if they appoint one, and to arrange the flights and visa for their employee.
