Ever felt the need to have better parks in Qatar? Well, you’re lucky.

The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) has decided to come up with 9 more parks in Qatar with more fitness equipment, facilities and attractions.

The parks promise to be greener and colourful along with better landscapes, apart from being environment friendly.

Facilities shall also be set up for the blind, people with disabilities and special needs.

The parks will also have better playgrounds suitable for children from 2 – 5 years and 5 – 12 years.

The new attractions would include lighted fountains, nurseries, cafeterias, barbeque and picnic areas. The visitors will also enjoy free Wi-Fi connection.

Bicycle enthusiasts will be able to ride themselves on new bike lanes.

Soft rubber tracks shall be introduced for walking along with more of security deployed in the parks.

There will be more of bathrooms and toilets available as many people have been complaining for the lack of it.

Some parks will help in recycling of water along with tapping solar energy for power and lighting.

Some other ideas are to provide recreational facilities such as tennis courts and more of benches for purpose of relaxation.

Some of the parks are set to open before the end of this year, while the rest are expected to open next year.

I am definitely looking forward to these new range of parks. Are you?

Sounds exciting. I wish they would develop more indoor sport clubs for badminton, table tennis, carrom, etc within city limits. I have a group of friends who regularly play baddie but mostly outdoors since there are only a couple of courts available, which are far off and are mostly full.
