A good news for all the boxing fans, especially the “Pacquiao” fans out there!

The world famous Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is all set to visit Qatar to attend the AIBA World Boxing Championship which is being held in Doha.

Pacquiao has been invited by the tournament’s governing body to grace the event.

The president of AIBA, Ching-Kuo Wu has said in a press conference that he had personally asked the boxing champ who is his personal friend, to attend the event and he also mentioned that this will be the first time that a big star will be visiting the tournament.

Wu also added, “He’s never been to the World Championships and I said ‘come and have a look’. This is the benchmark for future World Championships and I am pleased that Manny Pacquiao accepted my invitation to come and share his thoughts and ideas first hand.”

Pacquiao will attend the tournament on Thursday in time to watch its afternoon sessions. His visit is also expected to boost the number of spectators.

36 year old Pacquiao has an impressive 20 year long career in which he has won 57 fights and has lost only 6.

According to Doha News, Pacquiao will land in Doha tomorrow, the 8th of October. [The Malay Mail]
