Ashghal celebrates reaching 10 million man hours without incident in Dukhan Highway Project
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) along with the Qatari Diar-Saudi Bin Laden Group, a construction contractor working on the Dukhan Highway East Project, have come up with a new accomplishment.
They have achieved more than 10 million man hours without any Loss Time Injury (LTI).
According to Ashghal, they were able to achieve this because of the strict safety rules and regulations and systems that the workers have to follow in the working sites.
Ashghal also organized an award ceremony to commemorate this special moment. A certificate of appreciation was awarded to Mr. Bassam Kataw, the Project Director of QD-SBG, for achieving 10 Million Man-Hours without Loss Time Injury, and for the company's commitment to ensuring that the required safety standards and measures are implemented.
Some of the strict safety measures taken by Ashghal include, an intensive safety training accredited to the UK and European standards, in addition to intensive health and safety discussions and awareness sessions, weekly management inspections, access control for project team and sub-contractors, emergency support vehicles, site notice boards and other related procedures.
The Dukhan Highway project is part of a pedestrian friendly Avenue starting from Al Wajbah Palace to Tilted Interchange, which will connect with future projects extending to The Corniche. [The Peninsula]
