Qatar Living is proud to be a sponsor of the first ever Doha Yogathon! Friday Nov 6- Saturday Nov 7, 9am -9pm at The StrongBox in West Bay.

A community non-profit event for all the family that showcases the best Qatar has to offer in yoga and wellbeing.

For just 200QR – you get unlimited access to two full days of many styles of yoga, suitable for all levels, with top instructors from The Strongbox, Yama Yoga Studios – Qatar's only dedicated yoga studio, the five-star hotels and more.

You can buy tickets at The Strongbox in Al Jazi Gardens, opposite West Bay Petrol Station, Yama Yoga Studios in Asas Towers in West Bay and at the Event Brite page.

Try as many classes as you like – many styles from Ashtanga to Yin, suitable for all levels. There's also the chance to trying breathing classes, plus meditation and health and wellbeing sessions.

See below for full list and find your yoga! Some are taster sessions at 30 minutes, and some are 60-90 minutes. Just turn up 10 minutes early to register for each class you want.

It's a community event, so we really encourage you to come and hang out for the weekend. Families welcome.

The Strongbox has a garden and swimming pool where you can relax in between sessions, so bring your swimming gear! We're looking for hoops and juggling equipment for you to play with too...

Food will be available at the venue, plus lots of tasty and healthy snacks and drinks courtesy of The Vegetarian Treehouse, RAW ME and Vita Coco.

How it works:

Students will pay a flat fee of 200 QR and receive a wristband to attend as many classes as they want throughout the weekend. Classes take place during the day from 9 AM to 9 PM. Full schedule to be published soon – watch this space.

Ticket costs will go toward the venue, equipment, water, and snacks. We will also be sponsored by The Strongbox, RAW ME, Vita Coco and The Vegetarian Treehouse

We hope to offer as many different classes as Qatar has to offer: ashtanga, breathing, vinyasa flow, Hatha, Jivamukti, Yin, restorative yoga, Aerial yoga, Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) Yoga, Kids yoga, Acro Yoga, Prenatal/postnatal yoga, Mummy and Me (babies), Mummy and Me (up to 7 years), Rocket Yoga, Yoga to live drumming, Yogalates, pilates and meditation.

Plus sessions on: How to eat to increase your wellbeing; Guide to Raw Food eating; How to eat well in Qatar – a secret guide; How to be an ethical consumer; Art as meditation: creating time for yourself in a creative way

Volunteers (karma yoga!)

We are looking for volunteers to help with selling tickets on the day and making sure everyone knows where to go to get to their class. If you or anyone you know is interested in volunteering the signup sheet is here ☺ This is your chance to try karma yoga – selfless action!

Instructors
To register as an instructor, please complete the following form. Please sign up as soon as you can - scheduling will likely be completed near the end of October.

You can teach as many classes as you want – in whatever style you like. If you teach TWO or more classes you get all classes for FREE!

You will be able to choose your preferred teaching space, number of students, whether you could like to co-teach. Creativity is encouraged – if you want to try something new, go for it!

Feel free to bring banners and promotional and marketing material from your respective company, studio, brand or centre to put in your teaching space.

This event is a non-profit event that gives instructors and studios an opportunity to market themselves, their classes, and their yoga styles!

The venue:

The Yogathon will take place at the Strongbox in Al Jazi Gardens opposite of West Bay Petrol Station. The venue offers five indoor studios, two outdoor studios, a pool, and an indoor and outdoor café/eating area which will allow us to maximize the space.
