RasGas layoffs

So I have heard this yesterday and I wanted to check if it is true or not. We all know that RasGas has recently laid off 250 employees. Yesterday they were apparently escorted out of their building. I am not sure if these are the announced 250 or a new batch of layoffs. Anyone with more information on the topic?

hat's normal, as long as the process is transparent and fair. but it is not so, many people come to work always late home early and talk more from work, but they should get a good rating in the PM and their results are not touched at all. PM has become a sly game to make them survive in fired or not.

the second thing is a bad ESB scheme, you are rich when working but poor when stopped working. Compare with other countries which is 2N + 1 own request where n is the working year, and if upon request of company like RG this company will pay full salary until end of contract, or until end of retirement for permanent employee, its called golden shake hand. But in RG / QG / QP or its affiliated company used is a scheme at its own request

Thanks Heydoha for the clarification. It was that info that I was looking for. It is definitely sad and disrespectful. We've had plenty of senior people resigning or (rarely) dismissed and it was always done in a professional and diplomatic way, with due respect to the notice period.

Heydoha: This is standard practice all over the world now. Senior staff have access to confidential company information . Organisations don't want to give them the opportunity of taking corporate intellectual property with them

Rasgas is one of our customer. What Mr. Yacine asked is correct. 250 is the number declared by Rasgas and is the total number of termination. majority of them are senior stuffs. However, the way firing was done was kind of in decent. the senior stuffs who served the company for over 15 years, in just 5 mins of handing over the termination letter, they were escorted to move out of office security area to send them home. There could be ups and downs in companies and everyone have to leave one day or another. However, the person who served the company for 15 years at least deserves some respected farewell or good words. May be that is the professional approach but i felt sorry for the people when I heard about it.

India's biggest gas importer Petronet LNG is close to renegotiating a major deal with its Qatari supplier Rasgas, lowering the cost of gas shipments and avoiding a $1.5 billion (Rs 9,916.5 crore) penalty fee for lifting less gas than agreed, two sources said.

The renegotiation is another sign of how falling oil prices and a global gas glut are bringing producing giants such as Qatar to the negotiating table.

Petronet, which has a 25-year contract with Rasgas to annually buy 7.5 million tonne of liquefied natural gas (LNG) has reduced purchases by about a third this year due to high prices -- even though it is only allowed to take 10% less, making it liable for a $1.5 billion penalt

Yeah I know, that is why I asked you to bugger off. If it was private I would have blocked from the first idiocy you said. Again you are confirming your stupidity .. publicly.

It would have been even more idiotic to ask it if I worked there, because I could have asked colleagues rather than random idiots like you an online forum. You just confirmed to what I thought of you.

Can you now get off my thread and let normal people comment?

To me, it is idiotic to ask such a question if you don't work for RasGas

If I worked at RasGas I would have known the story and I wouldn't be asking idiots here. Seriously guys, are you that stupid or what?
