HGH multi-storey parking reserved for patients
The usually crowded multi-storey parking facility at Hamad General Hospital (HGH) was almost empty yesterday as many visitors and staff were stopped from parking their cars there.
The parking lot was restricted to patients only with an appointment at the outpatient clinics at HGH, it has been learnt.
The Peninsula reports that security guards at the main gate of the hospital were seen stopping every vehicle and directing visitors with an OPD appointment to the multi-storey parking.
“Usually we face much difficulty in parking the vehicle before getting into the hospital. But when we went in the morning the security guards at the gate checked the appointment slip and allowed us to park in the multi-storey facility,” a visitor told yesterday.
A security guard told that since 6am yesterday, patients only and their companions were allowed to park at the facility.
Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) staff were also not allowed to park there. HMC officials were not available for comments.
Well done HMC, it was horrible, one day, after going up in the circle and circle, i was frustrated and so was my family. I dropped my family at OPD entrace and drove far al sadd area, took taxi and came to hospital. thankfully, docs waited for me.
@Khan, I am not sure if you ever visited HMC as a patient but I did. In day time .... Its hard to find a parking spot in the morning. Once the winter break finishes, it is going to be full again.
Not well done...Look these parking lots are empty and the majority are not visitors rather staffs . It is like you have so much food and there are so many hungry people. You are not giving the food to the poor saying that they were not invited and your invited list of people is very less. In the end the food got spoiled and it became of no use to the visitor nor the staff.
Foolish management
well done! HMC
