Expat sentenced to jail for refusing to return a phone he had seized
A Bangladeshi expatriate man has been sentenced to two months in jail for seizing a mobile he had found and refusing to return it to its owner.
According to Gulf Times, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday that a Doha Criminal Court convicted the defendant of not reporting the issue to the police within seven days and refusing to return the phone to its owner, though he contacted him on the same number.
Investigations revealed that the owner of the phone, who lost it during the last National Day celebrations at Al Aziziyah area, called the phone and the defendant answered him.
The owner asked the defendant to return the phone, but he refused claiming that he found it and it should be his.
I found a newt in my papadom and Rizks told me to keep it - free
It's tricky. I found my woman, too, and I refuse to return her, too.
