Iranian Airlines is gearing up to compete with Emirates and Qatar airlines, and in order for that, Iran has lately signed a deal to buy 100 air bus planes from France.

The delivery of these planes have been planned in just two years, and if so, Iran shall attempt to claim back its market share from other regional competitors. Cheapest Iranian oil shall fuel their airplanes enabling the Airline to operate on very low fares.

In addition they plan to facilitate their tourism industry via attracting international tourists, in a bid to diversify their economy.

Good for Iran, I will buy more pistachio nuts and caviar while transiting in Tehran Airport on my way to Kathmandu.

I hope they will serve alcoholic drink as well.

It 'll be a really uphill task for them. Possible if they make a partnership.

Iran Air is in no real position to compete with Emirates or QA on a global scale. Its fleet is ageing and needs new planes to meet the demands once sanctions are fully lifted.

I would agree that tourism will be an option in incresing revenue
