I exited Qatar on 21st September for visiting my native place & will be able to return by mid march only.If I return on the 18th of March(180th day), would I be overstaying the outstay period of 6 months?

I think your spouse can go to the immigration office and pay some money and extend the visa even if you are not in the country.

Can you count? Then count 6 months from the day of departure. Come back a day before that. If you can't count you'll have a problem.
