Converting Visit Visa to RP

Warm Greetings to all.

I have a typical situation.

My wife and son are here in Doha on visit Visa and will be exiting on 9th April 2016.

I have approval for there RP (visit visa with 5 yrs validity).

I know that fees to convert visit visa to RP without exiting country is 500 Riyaal and definately I will like to save it.. :)

So I want to know, when should my family exit if I convert there visit visa to RP without paying this 500 Riyaal (for converting visit visa within country)??

My family will be going back to India any how on 9th April 2016.

So I want to know if it is possible to get RP done first and then exit the country after 1 week - 10 days or they must exit before converting visit visa to RP.

Either way you're going to pay something. You're either going to pay 500QR to transfer the visit visa - residency, or you're going to pay for 2 return flights somewhere, costing you more.

I did this last month and the cheapest option for me was to pay the 500QR. You can't shortcut the system.
