Ooredoo outlines plans to roll out 5G services in Qatar
Ooredoo Qatar’s Chief Executive Officer Waleed Al Sayed outlined the company’s plans to prepare to launch 5G services in the country during the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference in Doha.
Ooredoo is pursuing a strategy of network evolution that will deliver a ‘better internet experience’ for customers, as well as enabling a host of smart technologies that connect millions of devices to the network.
Ooredoo is already laying the foundations for 5G services in Qatar, recently announcing it has signed agreements with global technology leaders to build the region’s first 5G research and development centre in Doha.
He spoke about how this investment would support the deployment of ‘Internet of Things’ innovations across a range of industries.
“The rise of the ‘Internet of Things’ means that we need networks that can support billions of connected devices, as well as millions of people. Our investment in the Ooredoo Supernet means that we’ll be ready for this technological evolution and will offer our customers the latest solutions as they become available,” he said.
“Events like the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference enable us to transfer knowledge and build partnerships for the future, as we push to become the leading integrated ICT provider in Qatar,” he added.
Al Sayed showed a video on the incredible services that the Supernet would bring to customers in Qatar.
The 2016 edition of the IEEE conference will run until April 6.

Specify the area where ooredoo offers 5G / 4G service In salwa road ooredoo offers 2 G edge Services better go to Vodafone
Me 2nd one, MM.
I will be the first one to go for it .........
I have switched to Vodafone.. Much better than Ooredoo in terms of reception. Ooredoo has the worst customer service when you write an email to them. They hardly understand English language and all you get is a canned response. They took my talk time and Internet MB unnecessarily, but they will never admit it as their crazy virus infected systems show them the wrong data.
Great Move, looking forward to using 5G soon!
