Filipina nurse Celeste Mamon Centino, 28, who was injured in a road traffic accident on April 21 near Dar Al Salam Mall in Abu Hamour, has been discharged from hospital, according to the Gulf Times.

Cheryl Mae Ayugat Wawey, 30, who was her colleague at Premium Naseem Al Rabeeh Medical Centre, near Haloul Roundabout, died in the accident after suffering severe head injuries.

The body of Wawey was repatriated to northern Philippines on April 26, the Assistance To Nationals (ATN) of the Philippine embassy in Doha said.

The ATN said they immediately shipped Wawey’s body after getting the clearance from the authorities. The embassy is awaiting the result of the police investigation.

Centino's brother told Gulf Times that she has to see the doctor regularly for check-ups. However, she had the chance to see her colleague’s body before it was repatriated back home, ATN added.

What are you all commenting about. Photo does not seem to be a mustang and park location changed? Fact is there were two accidents on the same road within 200 meters and apart 20 minutes or so. Dar Salam and the traffic lights. Mustang driver [expat] at dar salam, according to his web site not involved in this accident?

Yes, that may be required if people don't change their attitude or we can suggest car manufactures to start initiating smart cars which can scan everything around including a human brain.

It's very hard to turn on your blinkers if you're holding a smart phone in your hand and are texting while the other hand is holding the steering wheel. In the future people should be born with three of four hands.

acchabaccha...Yes, I know people in cars allow you to cross roads, but sometimes they will also hit you and run away. I tried many times to stop the car and cross roads, but few under matured ones just don't bother to stop. I am not describing here about crossing the roads as it is not a big deal for me. I pointing towards the persons who do not obey simple road rules. Is it so hard to turn on the indicator while taking a turn?

Catch the culprit and start giving him lashes until he exactly remembers the last reading of his odometer (with 100 accuracy) when he caused such a harmful INCIDENT. he must remember to observe it hereafter when he drives until his last breath.

as a bonus ban his licence.

No religion says to cause harm to others! it's prohibited. supporting em is prohibited too.

Some people try to be apologists for wrong doers. It is like if wrong things happen in my country, why not here.

All that requires is to keep one's eyes open and use his common sense while crossing the roads. This rule of the thumb applies all over the world where there are cars on the roads. As for the views expressed by nijesh4ever, he has forgotten to mention a good side of most drivers here in Doha. They always stop to allow a pedestrian cross the street. Even female drivers do it. This is something not seen in my country and possibly not present in nijesh4ever's country also.

I have found the answer - Don't cross at the intersection - cross a few car lengths before that - especially when the traffic is queuing

Ha, ha, ha. I can't stop laughing about your realistic description. It is indeed the Wild West in Doha! The only chance to survive is to act like a cowboy!

I come from India and after coming here I had a good vision about the people, rules and regulations in a Gulf country, but I was wrong. Yes the people are really good, most of them are respectful, but the driving is a nightmare. I usually walk from office to home and home to office. Yes I need to cross couple of roads. I have seen here in Muaither, there are too many roads and streets connecting everywhere. People come with their vehicles and turn where ever they want without giving a Indicator. Now the person who wants to cross a road near a turning he is not sure if the vehicle is going straight or taking a turn. I have personally experienced this many times. I am about to cross a road and a speedy vehicle would approach me without giving an Indicator to turn. Many of them sound horn continuously as if they are in a hurry to toilet. Have they become so lazy or is it that they are not scared of the officials? Most of the time we all see people texting while driving as if they have a extra eye on their forehead - : ) Its time that officials start looking for such careless drivers and fine them huge amount. At least cameras can be setup near every turn. We all expect law and order to be maintained correctly.

And there is no use in investigation of how it happened and in blaming the other driver. He had no intention to kill as proved earlier by the Underwear Theory. Pay the Blood money in coordination with insurance & move on. My sympathy with the family of the Filipino, but this is life. All of our lives will end. Be prepared for this reality...
