Kuwait deported 10 expatriates this week after they were caught driving without licences under a new law introduced in late 2015.

Police arrested the 10 during a traffic campaign through the capital Kuwait City, resulting in the arrest of 43 other motorists for driving recklessly.

The Arabic language daily Alwatan said 1,995 cars were also seized during the campaign, in which police recorded more than 48,000 road offences.

This is a great way of reducing  cars on the road and sending a clear message  - I like it !

WT, For you anybody who inhales in oxygen is a criminal .............

Okay, on your next journey do not give your luggage at the check in, carry all the stuff on your back & be a laughing stock ..........

Can't you see the sense in safe custody at free of cost ?

Many expats deposit their expensive jewellery & docs at the bank lockers & pay for that , but after reaching here they change their basis to the subject .........

Sadly, many of the "habits" continue here and then we blame the locals for al;l the driving ills

It is true. Very few people follow traffic laws in India and Pakistan.Wrong parking, rash driving, over speeding, wrong overtaking, constant honking, signal jumping etc are very common there.

I've visited Pakistan and India and I've seen the traffic there and it is absolutely crazy. Seems like people are in a hurry to get to their next life and don't care if they take someone else with them. It's not surprising that drivers licenses from these countries are not recognized here.

Relax, brit. It's about criminals!

MM, do you get that? It is against the LAW to keep the passport of a sponsored person. Why do you want to bend the law? Are you a criminal, too?

QatarLiving is full with stories of sponsors who abuse. MM turns a blind eye because he doesn't like to see the truth. He gives joys to all even though they would want to cry.

Brit, It's not the sponsors , it's the middle level management who is from the same nationality as of the workers ......... it's them who exploit the real working hands .......... sponsors provide the facility & pay for that ..........

MM: Are you any different ? You refuse to believe that sponsors can abuse - even though you read / hear stories about such things ..

You continually tell people to respect the sponsoir even though he is clearly doing wrong ..

To each his own.....

Brit, Most expats are so much occupied that they simply forget & mis-place their PPs and often disturb the PROs / Seniors at odd hrs in the night .......... why can'y they deposit their PPs at HR dept ... and just collect them when going on the vacations ..........

WT, I am sure if your sponsor will send a van for you to drop you at the airport , you will refuse it ......... You highlight the negative points ............ for propaganda ...... a routine propaganda ...........

MM: That is just an excuse... The law is clear and should be adhered to

WT, I mentioned here numerous times that If your sponsor keeps your docs in a fire proof cabinet, 24 hrs security at free of cost then you should be happy. If your sponsor is generous you are still angry with him ....... you always find fault my pal .........

And if a sponsor keeps a passport, it's a crime. Shoot him, too!

KHAN: It has nothing to do with the colour of the skin

If you drive without a license - you are committing a crime - period

If I am the incharge , I would put them in a quick test & keep the good ones & send others for a 3 full days refresher course , plus a test , to be followed by a new license for them .......

KHAN.

Why dont they shoot and kill the drivers on the road. This is another great way of reducing cars on the road and sending a clear message.

All foolish people making laws....understand that Driving is a Fundamental requirement and freedom of Human being in the current lifestyle. It is ridiculous that Some section of the society (The uneducated workers) is denied a license.

I accept driving without license is definitely dangerous that the person may not know driving and kan kill people in accidents. But the major reason is not that these people driving without license doesnt know driving, it is simply because they are denied this freedom by the authority and not even allowed to take driving lessons.

I dream of a world when the worker will also be granted a driving license . A world where there are no double strategy, in which the white skin can just show their home license to get a local license and the brown and black skin should take test and course...

May be they were aware of the campaign , it will not be difficult for them to update their docs in 10 - 15 minutes . It will better to keep these gentlemen back there than getting in the raw hands .......... which will be very very less productive { 10% of the experienced ones which we have now } during their first 3 years .... We need to respect their talent , there may be some genuine reason for not renewing their docs by their managers .........
