Just received my Offer Letter and my Basic would be plus mins 3500 riyals and which I would receive Transport allowance and Housing accommodation or allowance. How expensive is it live there, what about medical care? Would I survive in Doha? Thanks in advance

You start with a clean slate , don't ask too many questions , you will be treated equal to the present staff, don't worry without any basis , no need to build castles of complaints in the air ...... take it in that sense ..........

You are welcome here, you will definitely make much money as compared to Dubai or Muscat .

A lovely place, kind people , generous society ..... food for a man & his car is almost free if you compare it with any competitors in the region ......

Welcome & good luck, pleasant stay for long ...

I would also suggest that NOC should be part of the contract. It they don't add it you know you'll land up as a slave at the mercy of your employer!

Please keep in mind that after you come here they may issue you another contract at reduced salary and this does take place here. It is only after a contract is signed by both parties and gets registered at the Labour Office does it become a legal, binding document. A draft of a contract is just a piece of paper with no value. Britexpat's views and advice to you are correct.

The offer letter is not the same as or as binding as a contract..

The only contract which is binding is the one you sign in Qatar..

Ask them to send you a copy of the draft contract with all the conditions and benefits.. As I suggested, get them to offer you accomodation ..

also ask them what type of accomodation it is..

Good luck!

You don't say what the role is .. Whether you have a family to suppport back home etc..\

Qatar is quite expensive ,, I would suggest you ask the company to provide you with accomodation..

With housing provided , you need a minimum of 1000 for food ..

Then there will be charges for phone and sundries ..
