Strong winds are expected to hit Qatar on Tuesday
Strong winds are expected across the country on Tuesday along with low visibility due to dusty conditions, Gulf Times reported the Qatar Met department as saying.
Offshore areas, too, are likely to see strong winds and high seas, according to the weather report.
Northwesterly winds will blow at speeds ranging from 18-28 knots in inshore areas, going up to 38 knots in some places at times. In offshore areas, the wind speed may reach 30 knots on Tuesday.
The forecast for inshore areas today also says it will be hot during the day and dusty conditions are expected in some places. Slightly dusty conditions are also likely in offshore areas at times, with the sea level rising to 10ft.
Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 2km or less in some areas.
Data provided by the Met department showed that the mercury level reached a high of 46C in Turayna on Monday, followed by 45C at Qatar University, Abu Hamour, Al Khor and other places, and 44C at Doha airport and Messaied, among others.
On Tuesday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 41C in Doha, Messaied and Wakrah, 40C in Abu Samra and Al Khor, 37C in Dukhan and 32C in Al Ruwais.
