American Engineer with 15 years of experience
Hello guys,
could you suggest how I can possibly get a job in Qatar. I am considering moving overseas and I think Qatar is a decent country to move to. I have worked for top controls and automation employers in the US such as Rockwell Automation , Bosch, and Schneider. I look forward to hear your suggestions.
Thanks
Can you PM me your email? I might be able to get you with something if you are controls expert. We do have some upgrades in pipeline.

One must trust his sponsor ........ there should not be any doubt about the facilities like Exit Permit ........ Why would somebody stop you from going out if you care to take proper permission in due time ?
Exit permit refers to your ability to leave the country. If your employer does not give you an exit permit you cannot leave for any reason...vacation, death in the family... If you do find a position in Qatar make sure ask for muti-exit Visa in your contact, then you can come and go at will.
Thank you guys for the insights. I used to live in Texas so I may be able to tolerate heats. britexpat, thank you for the advice too about the defense companies just not sure if they hire someone who never worked in defense sector. All my experience falls within industrial automation. Sure the knowledge could be related easily. I will definitely research this name.
Wild Turkey mentioned something I wasn't aware of and might be concerning. I am American and I feel freedom, and definitely would be looking into this subject of 'exit permit'. In the states here, I could work for any employer and we are not in mutual contract. Either of us could decide to leave the other with not restrictions. definitely things are different over there.
Your best option is to contact US Defense companies like Raytheon who may have contracts here
Also , look at online job sites
Good luck
I advise you to study the weather in Qatar, the Sponsorship system with 'exit permit' and 'No Objection Certificate', and the other do's and don'ts before you think about your relocation. If you're looking for sun, sand, and sea, well, there is plenty of it here.
Who told you that Qatar was a "decent" country?
